Scriptures

Vedas, Upanishads, Gita, Ramayana, Mahabharata & more

The sacred texts of Sanatana Dharma form a vast library of revealed wisdom (śruti) and remembered tradition (smṛti). They guide seekers from ritual practice to the highest realization of the Self.

Śruti — That Which Is Heard

The Vedas are the foundational revealed scriptures: Rigveda, Yajurveda, Samaveda, and Atharvaveda. Each contains hymns, rituals, and contemplative wisdom culminating in the Upanishads.

The Upanishads

The Upanishads explore the nature of Brahman, Atman, and liberation. Principal Upanishads include Isha, Kena, Katha, Prashna, Mundaka, Mandukya, Taittiriya, Aitareya, Chandogya, and Brihadaranyaka.

Smṛti — Remembered Tradition

These texts preserve dharma in living form:

  • Bhagavad Gita — Krishna's teaching to Arjuna on the field of dharma
  • Ramayana — the journey of Sri Rama, the ideal of dharmic life
  • Mahabharata — the great epic of human and cosmic drama
  • Puranas — cosmology, devotion, and stories of the Divine
  • Dharma Shastras — codes of ethical and social conduct
